In November 2023, together with the federal Department of Health and Aged Care and our project partner Ochre Strokes, Gilimbaa launched a campaign to create awareness and position the positive outcomes and benefits of the free Shingrix® vaccine available for eligible First Nations people aged 50 years and older.
In conjunction with the consumer campaign, Gilimbaa engaged two health professionals as trusted and respected sources of advice and information for the primary target audience, to create informative and educational resource tools aimed at both health professionals and the primary target audience. We delivered a suite of material including social media videos, posters, brochures, photography, and social media tiles, as well as a community engagement program at grassroots level reaching the primary target audience where they were most likely to be receptive to its message – in medical and community centres across Queensland and New South Wales.
The desired outcome of the campaign was to increase the number of eligible people vaccinated against the virus to prevent them from contracting shingles and experiencing any of the serious complications associated with the virus.
