The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1979 with a purpose to lead Australian agriculture.
In late-2023, it was working in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF) and the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC), among others, to develop the Indigenous Agricultural Product Framework.
The framework is the first of its kind in Australia, with the goals of:
1: Enabling First Nations peoples to define ‘Indigenous agricultural products’ for the purposes of agricultural trade, recognition, and benefit.
2: Clarifying the benefits, gaps, industry maturity, and export opportunity for Indigenous agricultural products.
3: Providing key actions and governance requirements to translate the concept into recognisable Indigenous agricultural credentials.
Gilimbaa’s David Williams created the motif artwork ‘Together We Grow, Together We Prosper’ to support the Indigenous Agricultural Product Framework.
