Baraya Barray ~ Whale Song is a new stream of Poetry in First Languages (PIFL). Baraya Barray means ‘Sing Country’ in Gathang language. It brings attention to the origin of First Nations languages and the important lessons we can learn from our natural environment in caring for Country by celebrating saltwater songlines of the East Coast following the movements of Humpback Whales from Lutruwita (TAS) to Meanjin (QLD).
Gilimbaa was delighted to work with Red Room Poetry on the visual identity for this new project. This included logo design and style guide elements to be used on print and digital platforms, website, socials, EDMs, invites, proposal documents, poetry publications, learning resources, e-signature, and public art outcomes such as murals.
